Episode 1: “Plushie Politics”
Ella has roughly a thousand TY plushies. That’s not hyperbole. That’s just fact.
So when she recently asked for another one at the store, I gave my standard, “No, honey. You’ve got plenty.”
Without missing a beat, she fired back with, “I can pay.”
Curious (and slightly suspicious), I gave a cautious, “Okay.”
We approached the register. Ella, with full confidence, reaches into the take-a-penny tray, flips one dramatically, and announces:
“Heads, you pay, Mom.”
I blinked. “Um, E… that’s not how that works.”
Then, without hesitation, she whipped out her own debit card from her purse, proud as ever, and paid for the plushie herself. She smiled like she’d just closed a major deal.
Ella: 1
Capitalism: Still confused
Me: Now proudly raising a witty, financially independent plushie mogul.
